En Éthiopie, les forgerons de Harar ont la réputation de se transformer en hyènes la nuit pour rôder dans la vieille ville. Derrière la modification des corps au travail et la possibilité d’une métamorphose homme-animal, naît un basculement du réel.
Le projet interdisciplinaire Nous sommes des hyènes propose une lecture poétique et imagée du mythe du forgeron-hyène. Il se concrétisera par la restitution de deux sculptures de hyènes construites en France puis en Éthiopie, et un film documentaire : Incandescence des hyènes.
Cet événement autour du projet Nous sommes des hyènes présente les premiers travaux réalisés. À travers des images brutes des différentes étapes de construction d’un prototype de sculpture, jusqu’à sa mise en situation dans l’espace public, nous suivrons la naissance de la première Hyène de fer, produite dans les ateliers de L’Assaut.

In Ethiopia, the blacksmiths of Harar have the reputation of turning into hyenas at night to roam the old city. Behind the modification of bodies at work and the possibility of a human-animal metamorphosis, a shift in reality is born.
The interdisciplinary project Nous sommes des hyènes offers a poetic and pictorial interpretation of the myth of the blacksmith-hyena. It will be concretized by the restitution of two hyena sculptures built in France then in Ethiopia, and a documentary film: Incandescence des hyènes.
This event around the project We are hyenas presents the first work done. Through raw images of the different stages of construction of a sculpture prototype, until its staging in public space, we will follow the birth of the first Iron Hyena, produced in the workshops of L’Assaut.
